Your wedding is one of the most important days of your life. You’ve put a lot of time, effort & money into making sure it’s everything you ever dreamed of!

 

You’ll look back on this day for the rest of your life, so it’s important that you find the right photographer who you can trust to photograph your day exactly as you remember it.

 

With so many things to organise in the lead up to the big day, from thinking of venues, to choosing your perfect dress, it can all get a little overwhelming, so here are some things to think about when choosing your wedding photographer, which I hope will be us!

 

Tips for finding your perfect photographer;

 

Do your research; check out our website and social media and read our reviews. The main thing at this point is that you like the look and feel of our photos, but its also important to feel comfortable with us. .

The more you feel at ease, the more easily you’ll be able to communicate about what you want, and the photos will look natural and relaxed.

 

Questions you can ask us?

 

• Is your date available and if so, how far in advance do you need to book?

  As soon as you can to confirm the date.

• Will it be them taking the photographs or will they also have an assistant with them?

  It will be two of us, myself & Steve.

• Have they done a similar size/style wedding to yours before?

        We have covered most styles & sizes between us.

• Have they done a wedding at your venue? If not, will they go and have a look around beforehand?

  We always check out venues before hand.

• How would they describe their style of photography? E.g. is it quite formal and posed? Or natural and candid? Do you want something traditional, or a bit more quirky?

  We can do either or both, completely your call.

• How do they work when they photograph a wedding? Are they the kind of photographer who blends in with the guests, taking natural shots as they happen? Or will they take charge and set up shots? Maybe they’re a mix of both, but this is something to agree on before the big day.

  Again we can be both & whatever you want.

• Can you request certain shots?

  Absolutely!

• What equipment will they be using? Do they shoot in digital format or film? And do they have backup equipment?

  We both shoot on digital, with 2 cameras each, spare lenses & flash.

• Are they comfortable shooting both inside and outside?

  Most certainly.

• What time will they arrive?

  If you want Bridal & Groom prep usually around 2 to 3 hours before. Or 1 hour before a service.

• Have they got a set finish time? Is there an additional charge for staying longer than expected?

  On the last package no, but we usually finish after the last dance & guests doing some moves on the dancefloor.

   

 

• Do they have a backup plan/photographer for if they’re ill or if there’s an emergency?

  There are 2 of us so worst comes to the worst one or the other will be there.

• How soon will you get the photos afterwards?

  I will send you afew previews within a couple of days, then a full online gallery within 2 weeks. If you go for an album a USB is also included.

• Do they have camera insurance that includes public liability?

  Yes.

   

• Who has the rights to the images? Will you be able to post them online?

      We hold the rights, but they are yours to share & reproduce as you wish, no restrictions. I do keep back up in case you ever lose them also.

• How much is the deposit and when do they want it?

  Deposit is £100 and payable online banking.

• Do they do different packages?

  There are 3 packages available.

• Can you pay in instalments?

  As long as the full amount is paid 2 weeks prior to the wedding yes.

• What’s their cancellation/refund policy?

  The deposit is non refundable.

• Does the fee include any corrective services, re-touching etc?

  All photos fully edited, I will take out anything obvious & close up faces of B & G will be re touched, anything more extensive will have to be pre agreed.

• Does the price include an album?

  Albums are extra at £350

• Are there any additional costs? E.g. travel costs?

  Only if out of our area.

 

     Now you have considered all the above ask yourself:

• Do you feel at ease with them? Whoever you choose will be a big part of your day and be around you when you’re feeling nervous/excited/emotional/stressed, so you need to feel comfortable.

• Do you feel they communicate well? There may be last-minute issues on the day, and these need to be sorted out quickly and smoothly. Having someone who can communicate well will help this.

• Do you feel they listen to you and any concerns?

     Choosing a wedding photographer is one of the biggest decisions you’ll make when planning your day; these photos are so important!
